Timber Price Forecasting - Pilot Testing in Operations
Having successfully designed and implemented timber price forecasting models for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, CounterPoint Consulting Inc was retained sole source by DNR to develop quarterly forecasts that the department pilot tested by comparing their sales and revenues without the forecasts to those completed with the forecasts. Following the successful identification, specification and estimation of timber price forecasting models for Douglas-fir in Pacific Cascade region of Washington State, Dr Blewett was retained by the Department of Natural Resources to expand on those models, investigating the predictive power of another dozen variables suggested by DNR staff.
