Edwin was retained by the federal government of Canada to serve as a member of the legal teams defending two civil suits—the first of their kind in Canada—seeking to establish aboriginal title and rights to the sea bed and ocean. As Deponent, he underwent 18 days of Examination for Discovery, and provided written responses to hundreds of interrogatories. He provided expertise on Canada's Pacific fisheries to the legal team and attended court to assist the legal team when cross-examining Plaintiff's experts. Edwin played a prominent role in writing the Argument for the second case.
